Mentor:  Trygve Tollefsbol, Ph.D, D.O., Professor, Department of Biology; Senior Scientist, Comprehensive Cancer Center, Comprehensive Center for Healthy Aging, University of Alabama at Birmingham, Birmingham, Alabama, USA (trygve@uab.edu)

A postdoctoral position is available to a highly motivated candidate to study the epigenetics of aging and cancer prevention.  The successful candidate will utilize molecular epigenetic/epigenomic and pharmacologic methods.  Prior experience with cell culture, animal models, epigenetic methods and molecular biology is required.  Candidates with a Ph.D. and/or M.D. in molecular biology, biochemistry or a related discipline are encouraged to apply.  Experience with administration of bioactive dietary compounds to animals is highly desirable as well as experience in aging and/or cancer prevention research.  Eligibility to apply for NIH training grants would be a distinct advantage.
