Position Description:

The Department of Optometry and Vision Science invites applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow to study the molecular mechanism of translational control in the retina of animal models of retinal degeneration. We are searching for a highly motivated scientist who is interested in discovery of the mechanism of retinal degeneration and design of neuroprotective strategies. Experience working with animal models (husbandry and genotyping), mammalian cell culture, protein and RNA analyses, and histology is essential. Expertize in vision functional and imaging analyses would be beneficial.  

Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Genetics, Neuroscience or related disciplines with experience documented by first author publications.  Applicant needs to demonstrate independence and the ability to communicate.  Experience in writing scientific publications is required. Interested candidates should submit a letter of interest together with comprehensive curriculum vitae and names of three references to
