The Neuroscience Laboratory of Social Behavior in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neurobiology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (PI: Junghee Lee, PhD) seeks a postdoctoral fellow who is interested in conducting innovative, multidisciplinary research in neurobiological mechanisms of social dysfunction in serious mental illness.

The Neuroscience Laboratory of Social Behavior focuses on key mechanisms of social behavior cross-diagnostically and throughout the life span using innovative neuroscientific tools. A postdoctoral fellow will participate in on-going projects on social dysfunction in schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. A postdoctoral fellow will also have opportunities to conduct original research with a focus on social dysfunction in serious mental illness.  

The successful candidates will 1) have PhD in the field of psychology, neuroscience, or computer science; 2) be highly motivated to understand underlying neurobiological mechanisms of social dysfunction in serious mental illness; 3) have excellent organization and time management skills; and 4) work independently and as part of a team.
