Postdoctoral fellow positions open to study the pathogenesis and experimental therapeutics of pulmonary fibrosis, pulmonary hypertension, and inflammation. The major focus of my lab is to characterize the role of miRNAs and long non-coding RNAs in these pulmonary diseases. We are also interested in the role of dysregulated metabolism, particularly glycolysis, in the initiation and perpetration of these disorders. The successful candidate is expected to perform and design experiments with minimal input from the mentor and to write manuscripts for publication and presentation. Prior experience with mice experiments is required. Highly-motivated scientists with strong background in molecular and cellular biology, metabolism, and pulmonary pathophysiology are encouraged to apply. Applicants should submit their CV and the names and contact information of three references to Gang Liu, M.D., Ph.D., Associate Professor, Department of Medicine, Division of Pulmonary, Allergy, and Critical Care Medicine, University of Alabama at Birmingham, BMR2 233, 901 19th St. South, Birmingham, Alabama 35294, Telephone: (205) 975-8932; Fax: (205) 934-7437; Email: gliu@uab.edu
