Postdoctoral position openings are available immediately in the area of pulmonary biology. The positions entail basic translational research (a) to investigate the role of hypoxic factors in pulmonary hypertension and (b) to investigate the role of extracellular RNA in chemical-induced lung injury.

A Ph.D. in Biological Sciences or a related discipline is required. Experience in one or more of the following areas is highly desirable: (i) animal handling, husbandry and restraint, as well as minor survival surgeries in rats and mice, to include intratracheal and intravenous drug administration and sample collection, as well as necropsy, (ii) standard molecular techniques, including molecular cloning, PCR, RealTime PCR, RNA and DNA isolations and western blots, (iii) cell culture techniques and transfections, (iv) pulmonary hemodynamic measurements, (v) lung morphometric techniques and (vi) animal imaging. The applicant is also expected to design experiments and write manuscripts. Opportunities for advancement are available.
