Postdoctoral position is immediately available for a highly motivated candidate in Dr. Suresh Kumar Verma‚Äôs laboratory in Department of Medicine, Division of Cardiovascular Diseases to participate in NIH funded study that focus on role of inflammation in cardiovascular remodeling during heart failure. The major focus of our laboratory is to investigate the role of inflammation in cardiovascular biology and function, including cellular signaling, stem/progenitor cell biology and inflammation.  Many of the studies are currently being performed in model systems, including genetically modified mouse models. The initial appointment will be for one year with the possibility of extension contingent on satisfactory performance. Salary will follow NIH guidelines commensurate with training and experience.


Candidates with a Ph.D. degree in biomedical science or related discipline are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate should have a proven track record with publications. Strong motivation, good communication skills and the ability to work independently are required. Prior experience in relevant fields including e.g. animal handling, surgical techniques, cardiac physiology and skill in molecular biology techniques is desirable.
