The University of Alabama at Birmingham has an immediate opening for a postdoctoral research in the area of experimental ultrafast optics in condensed matter systems.  The ideal candidate will have a combination of research experience in one or more of the following areas: experimental ultrafast optical spectroscopy, terahertz time-domain spectroscopy, high magnetic field spectroscopy, high temperature superconductivity, and the physics of non-equilibrium systems.  

She/he must have an outstanding publication record and a strong commitment to excellence in conducting independent research and in supervising research at both graduate and undergraduate researchers.
