Women 18 years and older who are currently experiencing any vaginal symptoms are invited to participate in a research study evaluation a new diagnostic test for bacterial vaginosis and vaginal yeast infection. Please call the UAB Sexual Health Research Clinic at 205-934-8166. Compensation will be provided.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements: • You are 18- to 35-years-old. • You are currently wearing glasses/contact lenses. • You know how to use soft contact lenses. • You have had an eye exam within the last 2 years This study includes four to six visits, which will happen over ten weeks. If eligible, you will be compensated $20 to $40/visit with a maximum of $140 for your participation in the study. Do you have Urinary Leakage? If you are eligible (women 65 years or older), you will take part in a 12-week hip muscle exercise program, individualized sessions taught by a licensed physical therapist specialized in hip strength. The program offers 12 private sessions, alternating in-person and phone visits (a “home program”) Compensation will be provided. For more information, please call 205.934.5498.

A clinical research study is now enrolling eligible adults. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness, safety, and tolerability of an investigational medication when it is used alone in people with TRD. You may be eligible to participate if you: • Are 18 years of age or older • Have been diagnosed with TRD • Have not adequately responded to at least 2 different antidepressant treatments If you are interested, additional eligibility criteria will be assessed by the study doctor or staff. The commitment for the study is about 24 weeks. Qualified patients may receive investigational study medication and some study-required medical care at no cost. A clinical research study is now enrolling eligible adults between the ages of 18-74 years of age. The purpose of the study is to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of an investigational medicine in people who have depression with sleep problems. Must have been diagnosed with depression, Have taken antidepressants in the past that did not work well for you and currently taking an antidepressant medication but still having symptoms of depression. Having difficulty falling asleep, or or do not feel rested the next day. If you are interested additional eligibility criterial will be assessed by the study doctor or staff. Qualified patients may receive study-related medical care and investigational study medication at no cost. In addition, reimbursement for study-related travel may be provided. Participants must be: • Ages 21 to 65 • Able to safely consume alcohol • In good physical and mental health Participant activities: Attend an initial 1-hour study appointment, and a second appointment lasting 1-11.5 hours. You may be eligible to participate in a research study about the effects of Sacubitril/Valsartan or Valsartan on your body’s 24-hour rhythm of a hormone in your blood called natriuretic peptides. This hormone and the study medications are related to the heart. Eligible participants must be obese (BMI: 30-45 kg/m2) men and women and have no history of diabetes, heart problems, or kidney problems. The study involves consuming prepared meals, wearing a blood pressure monitor for 24-hours, a 24-hour inpatient stay, and collecting blood and urine samples. The meals will be provided at no cost. Overweight/Obese adult volunteers needed for study If you are between the ages of 18 -89 yrs and have a body mass index > 30 kg/m2 you may be eligible to participate in a study exploring the reason why individuals who have high BMI have an increased risk of forming calcium oxalate kidney stones. Participation involves eating study-provided meals for 4 days, providing urine and blood samples. Study meals are provided free of charge and additional compensation up to $140 is offered. Adults with Type 2 Diabetes needed for a study If you are between the ages of 18 -89 yrs and have type 2 diabetes you may be eligible to participate in a study exploring the reason why individuals who have diabetes have an increased risk of forming calcium oxalate kidney stones. Individuals who are obese, overweight, or normal weight are all welcome to the study. Participation involves eating study-provided meals for 4 days, providing urine and blood samples. You may be eligible to participate in this important study if you are female and 21 years of age or older, if you are experiencing urine leakage with the feeling of urgency, coughing, sneezing, or laughing.
