Although most campus operations will be suspended July 4 to observe Independence Day, essential services will continue.
There will be no Blazer Express bus or van service July 4. Gates will be raised at the Fifth and Sixth Avenue parking decks for medical center employees who normally use the Express lots during the day.
Safety Escort, which will offer reduced service July 3, will be available by calling 4-8772, and resume as usual beginning 9 a.m. July 4.
The UAB Summer Band will present a free Fourth of July concert on the lawn in front of Bartow Arena beginning at 7 p.m. Bring chairs, blankets and picnics to enjoy during the concert and the annual fireworks show on Red Mountain at 9 p.m.
