Students register for classes at UAB Sept. 21-22, 1972 in the Bell Building. Then, registration was a hectic two-day process involving lining up at tables around the gym. A total 7,564 students enrolled that fall. Registration takes place entirely online now; in fall 2017, 20,902 students enrolled, the highest in UAB history.
