Always time to soak up rays

But there’s a key element of summertime fun missing from this vintage photo: adequate eye protection. Adam Gordon, O.D., clinical associate professor at the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry and director of Cornea and Contact Lens Services at UAB Eye Care, recommends buying sunglasses that block 100% of UVA and UVB rays to ensure wearers are effectively protecting their eyes from eye conditions such as cataract formation and cancer around the eyelids.
