In 2007, the Marching Blazers provided the soundtrack for the annual Homecoming parade, pumping up the crowd for the Blazers’ 26-21 win against Tulane University Oct. 13 in Legion Field.
This year, UAB’s traditional Homecoming activities look a bit different, but the Blazer spirit remains stronger than ever. Events are scheduled Sept. 27-Oct. 3 and culminate in UAB Football vs. University of Texas at San Antonio in Legion Field 11:30 a.m. Oct. 3.
The 2020 parade, once again featuring the Marching Blazers, plus spirit teams, photos, videos and more, will be hosted virtually on Instagram noon Oct. 2. Blazers can also compete in a yard sign decoration contest, look for clues in the Blazer Hustle Social Media Hunt, donate food and toiletries for those in need, learn to paint their own Blaze masterpiece and sport their pajamas for pancakes and karaoke.
