The UAB Staff Council will host its annual Picnic on the Green 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Oct. 22. Employees are encouraged to bring a full-size laundry detergent or house-cleaning product for Blazer Kitchen, UAB’s on-campus food bank. OneCard check-in is required.
BlazeRadio will provide music during the buffet lunch, and staff can explore a resource fair for staff-centric resources available on campus, including the Employee Assistance and Counseling Center, the Benevolent Fund, Printing and Mailing Services, UAB Athletics and University Recreation. President Ray Watts will highlight the past years accomplishments and share updates for the new academic year, beginning at noon.
Council leadership also will offer an update on its activities and a vision for the future.
“We look forward all year to the Picnic on the Green,” said Jennifer Breland, Ph.D., new chair of the Staff Council. “We are grateful for the opportunity to show staff what we’ve accomplished over the past year and talk about our plans for the future.”
