Honors College dean finalists to present May 1-2

blantonBlantonThe final candidates in the search for the first dean of the UAB Honors College will be on campus this week. All are encouraged to attend the hour-long presentations in Heritage Hall Room 102.

ennisEnnisShannon Lindsey Blanton, Ph.D., will present at 1 p.m. May 1. Blanton is vice provost for Undergraduate Programs and professor of political science at The University of Memphis.

Daniel J. Ennis, Ph.D., dean, Edwards College of Humanities and Fine Arts and professor of English, will present at 1:30 p.m. May 2.

UAB is creating the position of dean of the Honors College to oversee all aspects of its management and development. The search committee, chaired by Robert Palazzo, Ph.D. dean of the College of Arts & Sciences, reviewed a large number of applications, selected a strong pool of candidates for first-round interviews and narrowed those to the final candidates.
