UAB is making spring commencement a two-day affair in which graduates and undergraduates will be awarded degrees in separate ceremonies.
A doctoral hooding and commencement ceremony for all graduate programs except the schools of Medicine, Optometry and Dentistry will be held 6 p.m. Friday, April 27 in Bartow Arena. Unlike prior years, students receiving master’s degrees now will receive their diplomas with the doctoral candidates, and there will be no separate doctoral hooding ceremony Saturday.
Undergraduate diplomas will be awarded during two ceremonies April 28 in Bartow Arena. Diplomas will be awarded in the School of Education and the College of Arts and Sciences during a ceremony to begin 9:30 a.m. Undergraduates in the schools of Business, Engineering, Education, Public Health, Health Professions and Nursing will receive their diplomas in a ceremony beginning 2 p.m.
