Do you suffer from Fibromyalgia? Or are you a healthy female without pain?

If so, you could be eligible to participate in a new research study that aims to better understand the role of the immune system in fibromyalgia. The Neuroinflammation, Pain and Fatigue Lab at UAB is looking for women with Fibromyalgia, and women who are healthy and without pain. Participants will come to UAB for a 2-hour screening visit and a 9-hour (all-day) study session. During the study session, we will induce a temporary immune response and assess its effect on fibromyalgia symptoms, including pain and markers of immune activity. You will provide blood samples and undergo brain imaging before and after the immune activation procedure. You will be paid $650 for completing both visits. Participants must be: currently suffering from moderate to severe Fibromyalgia, or be a healthy female and ages 18-55, not pregnant or planning to become pregnant, without significant other medical conditions such as heart disease, not using any opioid medication, for example, Norco, Tramadol, Percocet. To participate, please contact Indonesia at 205-289-8748 or e-mail ijordan@uab.edu.
