Do you have a child aged 10, 11 or 12 who has experience with hunting or shooting?

The UAB Youth Safety Lab is studying accidental injuries. We invite families with children ages 10, 11 or 12 who have experience with hunting or shooting to participate. The study involves 5 visits to the UAB Youth Safety Lab. Parents respond to questionnaires and children engage in a range of computer and laboratory tasks. Children will receive training in either firearms safety or nutrition and families will earn up to $550 for their participation, including $150 for each 2-hour visit and $50 for each 30-minute training session. Parking is provided. Children receive a small toy prize at each visit. There are no medical or stressful procedures involved and most children enjoy participating. Call the UAB Youth Safety Lab at 205-934-4068 to enroll or ask questions. You can also email us at ajohn@uab.edu
