We are seeking people between 45 and 85 years of age to participate in a study of brain and breathing treatments for arthritis pain. The study involves seven visits over a three-week period to the study center at the University of Alabama Birmingham, where clinical tests and brain stimulation treatment will be done, along with brain scanning. The Neuroinflammation, Pain, and Fatigue Lab is looking for women ages 18-55 who have symptoms of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, ME/CFS, for a 1.5 hour brain imaging study. We will obtain magnetic resonance images, MRI, of your brain for one hour. The brain scans are non-invasive and do not involve exposure to radiation or injection of contrast agents. There will also be questionnaires. The purpose of the study is to investigate whether patients with chronic fatigue have increased brain temperature compared to healthy people. Researchers at the University of Alabama at Birmingham are recruiting for studies that examine the effects of Virtual Reality Walking on SCI pain experience. Participants receive between $350 to $400 dollars for study participation. Transportation is reimbursed. Participants must be between the ages of 18 and 65 and have complete paraplegic injury. The Neuroinflammation, Pain and Fatigue Lab is currently looking for Veterans of the Persian Gulf War to participate in our research studies.  If you are male, between the ages of 39-65, and were present in the Persian Gulf between 1990-August 1991, you may be eligible to participate in one of our new research studies.  Veterans with Gulf War Illness, healthy Gulf War Veterans, and individuals with Fibromyalgia/ Chronic Fatigue Syndrome are all needed.
