The Neuroinflammation, Pain, and Fatigue lab is looking for women with fibromyalgia ages 18-65 for a brain imaging study. The study includes a phone interview two visits to UAB hospital, one screening visit including blood draws, and one imaging visit, during which we will acquire Positron Emission Tomography (PET) and Magnetic Resonance Images (MRI) of your brain for one hour. PET imaging involves exposure to a small amount of radiation. There will also be questionnaires. You will be paid $400 for completing the study. The purpose of the study is to investigate whether patients with fibromyalgia have increased brain inflammation compared to healthy people. The Neuroinflammation, Pain, and Fatigue Lab at UAB is currently recruiting men between the ages of 39-65 with Fibromyalgia and/or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome for a research study. This study combines the use of multiple questionnaires and blood draws to learn more about chronic pain and fatigue. Participation includes a screening visit and twice-weekly blood draw visits over a 12-13 week period. Participants earn up to $750 for the completion of this study. The Neuroinflammation, Pain, and Fatigue laboratory at UAB is looking for participants for a study investigating the effects of a new study medication on the symptoms of Fibromyalgia. We are looking for women aged 23-65 who are diagnosed with Fibromyalgia or are experiencing widespread bodily pain and/or profound fatigue on a daily basis. Participants will come to UAB for 6 study visits over a five-month period, take the study medication as prescribed, and complete 4 blood draws. The UAB Neuroinflammation, Pain and Fatigue Lab is looking for individuals to take part in a research study. We will induce a temporary immune response and test how this affects fibromyalgia symptoms and markers of immune activity. You will be asked to come in for a screening session and, if eligible, two experimental sessions. You will be compensated up to $1025. Participants must have fibromyalgia, not be pregnant or currently planning to become pregnant, be without any significant medical conditions such as heart disease, and not currently using opioid medications. The Neuroinflammation, Pain and Fatigue Lab is currently looking for Veterans of the Persian Gulf War to participate in our research studies.  If you are male, between the ages of 39-65, and were present in the Persian Gulf between 1990-August 1991, you may be eligible to participate in one of our new research studies.  Veterans with Gulf War Illness, healthy Gulf War Veterans, and individuals with Fibromyalgia/ Chronic Fatigue Syndrome are all needed.
