If you are an adult who has had a traumatic brain injury (TBI) more than three months ago and have issues using your arms and hands as a result, you may qualify to participate in a rehabilitation study conducted here at UAB. We are looking for individuals who can partially open and close the hand and have some movement of wrist, elbow, and shoulder. Testing and treatment sessions take place over 3 weeks. Compensation is provided for eligible participants. For more information, please contact Staci McKay at (205) 934-9768 or stacemc@uab.edu.
The purpose of the study is to investigate brain inflammation after traumatic brain injury (TBI). We are looking for men aged 18-55 who have had a moderate to severe TBI within the past year, and are now experiencing pain fatigue, or cognitive difficulties. Our study includes one visit (2-2.5 hours) to UAB Highlands Hospital for a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan and brief cognitive assessment. You will be paid $200 for completing the session. If interested, please contact Kelsey Campbell at 205-578-8497, or email kcam@uab.edu for more information.
