3 chosen as UAB VIPs

Angela Stowe, Adrianne Marbury and Shavon Sykes are the fourth-quarter 2021 honorees of the UAB Shared Values in Action Program.

Beginning Jan. 17, Seventh Avenue South between the 16th and 18th Streets South will be closed for approximately three weeks to enable infrastructure to be installed in preparation for construction of the new Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility.

Each year, UAB’s official photographers capture thousands of images as they document the incredible variety of events and personalities that make up our community. Here are some of our favorite photos from the past 12 months.

Laura Calvert, a senior majoring in biomedical sciences, found that embroidering illustrations of plant structures, the glycolysis process and the human digestive system helped her to better grasp the subject matter — all while creating art along the way.

Join University Recreation’s spring mindfulness series Jan. 25-April 14 to begin practicing mindfulness strategies to reduce stress and improve mental health.

For its work to promote bee conservation and growth on campus, UAB has been named a Bee Campus USA by Bee City USA, which recognizes, supports and encourages pollinator conservation in towns, cities and counties across the country.

Help make the holidays merrier for Birmingham-area children by donating to two drives on campus this season — the annual UAB Toy Drive and Little Blazer Wishes.
