Attend the Veterans Day wreath-laying

UAB Veterans Services will host its annual wreath-laying ceremony noon Nov. 11 in the Hill Student Center ballrooms. Retired Brigadier General Richard B. Dix is the guest speaker, and Nathaniel Rutledge, retired Bessemer chief of police, will perform "America the Beautiful," following a rendition of the National Anthem by Jada Cox.

Donate to AWARE’s blanket and clothing drive

UAB’s AWARE Disability Management Program is paying tribute to military service men and women this Veterans Day by hosting a coat and blanket drive to benefit the Phoenix Clinic at the Birmingham VA Medical Center; the clinic aims to support veterans who are unhoused.

Blankets, gently used coats and new underwear, undershirts and bras will be collected Nov. 11-Dec. 16 at locations around campus. Drop-off boxes will be located at:
