Sloane elected director of National Collegiate Honors Council

michael sloane sizedAssociate Professor Mike Sloane, Ph.D., director of UAB's University Honors Program, was elected to the board of directors of the National Collegiate Honors Council, which advocates support for and excellence in higher education for all students.

Sloane directed the psychology honors program for more than 12 years, served as director of the undergraduate studies and was the first vice chairman of the department. In 2004, he was selected to direct the University Honors Program, which was established in 1983 and offers an interdisciplinary arts and sciences curriculum to a select group of highly motivated and talented undergraduates.
