UAB and the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute will bring together a diverse panel of citizens and community leaders to discuss the importance of civil discourse, and how it can be practiced in our daily lives, during a free public event 6:30-7:30 p.m. Nov. 15 in Heritage Hall Room 106.

The annual award recognizes employees, students and organizations that have helped create a more culturally diverse, inclusive university community through their achievements.

Cynthia Helms, a program administrator for the newly created eLearning and Professional Studies, is UAB’s Employee of the Month.

President Ray Watts has decided to close the university campus Friday, Dec. 23 and Friday, Dec. 30 to provide employees additional time with their families.

The dedication for the new house for Navy veteran Toni Byrd will begin 9 a.m. Nov. 11. All are welcome. 

Facilities team is streamlining water consumption and finding creative ways to offset needs.

The University Stores Warehouse will hold a public auction 9 a.m. Nov. 14 to dispose of surplus used equipment. The warehouse will close Nov. 3 to prepare for the auction.
