Dickinson is new QEP director

Dale Dickinson INSIDEDale Dickinson, Ph.D., associate professor in the School of Public Health, has been selected as the director for UAB’s Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP). The QEP, “Learning in a Team Environment,” will advance education across the university by teaching students to succeed in all appropriate roles of a team and use these skills to improve student learning.

Dickinson, who joined UAB in 1999, has previously served as the graduate program director for the Department of Environmental Health Sciences, chair of the School’s Educational Policies Committee and chair of the universitywide Undergraduate Curriculum Committee. He also is an associate scientist with the Comprehensive Cancer Center, the Nephrology Research and Training Center, the Center for the Study of Community Health and the Center for Free Radical Biology, in which he served as the assistant director for education.

He has been awarded the UAB President’s Award for Excellence in Teaching for both the School of Public Health and the Honors College and the Provost’s Award for Faculty Excellence in Service Learning.
