Nationwide, the cost of health care is rising, and UAB is working to balance the impact of these costs on our employees and the organization. Here are some things you can do to reduce your out-of-pocket expenses.

Eligible employees may choose among four health plans plus dental and vision benefits during the annual open enrollment Oct. 28-Nov. 14.

The free app for iOS and Android improves on many of the most popular features of the original UAB app, including profiles with all the information you need to get around, get connected and get things done.

Help earn team points and qualify to win individual prizes during the competition Oct. 3-Nov. 21.

Benefit-eligible employees will have the choice of enrolling in a traditional health care plan during the annual open enrollment Oct. 28-Nov.14. Changes in tier levels for plans are coming in 2018.

The report follows the guidelines mandated by the Federal Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act.

VIVA Choice — UAB’s new consumer-driven health plan — is a new option for benefit-eligible employees during the annual open enrollment Oct. 28-Nov.14.

UAB employees will have the option to choose or decline coverage during the annual open enrollment for benefits that begins 7 a.m. Oct. 28 and concludes 5 p.m. Nov. 14. 

Benefit-eligible employees now will be able to use accrued sick time for their own illness during the initial six-month probationary period and also receive donated sick leave for medical necessity.
