  • UAB students, faculty and staff volunteered in October 2019 with GEAR UP Alabama students at Goshen High School in Pike County, Alabama, as part of the Black Belt Friday Bus Tour. During each tour, students learned the history of the Black Belt and received college and career counseling as part of the program’s mission to increase the number of low-income students who are prepared to enter and succeed in postsecondary education.

Look for opportunities to support GEAR UP this spring in Montgomery, Hale and Lowndes counties.
