Researchers at UAB are looking for individuals ages 18 or older who want to make a difference in the fight against HIV by taking part in a research study to test a new rectal medication. The medication is being developed to protect against HIV infection during anal sex. The study involves 10 visits during a period of 3 to 4 months. During this time, you will insert the product rectally at 2 of the visits and have rectal biopsies collected at 5 of the visits. Physical exams and HIV/STI testing will be provided at no cost, and you will be compensated up to $1,275 for your time. For more information, call 205-996-4099.
