The twice-yearly Discover UAB Resource Fair spotlights the amenities, perks and resources that make it great to be a UAB Blazer. This free event hosted in conjunction with Discover UAB, Learning & Development's new employee onboarding and orientation program, is open to new employees and longtime Blazers.
The spring 2019 fair will be held noon-2 p.m. April 19 in the UAB Alumni House.
“Due to the success of our past two fairs we decided to move the event to the Alumni House, which is more centrally located and accommodates more people,” said Learning & Development Specialist Jeremy Wass. “It’s a great place to learn what UAB has to offer its employees.”
Attendees will have the opportunity to talk with representatives from 16 programs and organizations that cater to UAB employees, including two vendors new to the Discover UAB Resource Fair — BlazerPulse, an online platform launched earlier this year to connect UAB employees and students to community service opportunities, and SmartPath, which recently partnered with UAB to offer one-on-one financial counseling and other financial wellness resources for faculty and staff.
Light refreshments will be served and attendees have a chance to become eligible for prizes from fair vendors. No ticket is required, but registration is requested.
