Management Fundamentals offers skill practice for effective management with UAB peers and is great for people looking for a safe space to develop essential skills. Dates and topics: 9-10 a.m. Feb. 16 (Performance Management), March 16 (Giving Feedback) and April 20 (Coaching).
The Leadership Edge for New Managers is a five-part cohort for newly hired or promoted managers and leaders at UAB. This is a great way to jumpstart your success as a UAB leader. Cohort meets 8:45-10 a.m. every other Thursday beginning Feb. 11. Topics include building your brand, the HR Toolkit for Success, communication and people/team development.
Coaching Circles is a two-month program designed to develop the leadership skills of listening, giving and receiving feedback and coaching. Participants apply coaching skills to overcome real-life challenges and achieve goals; they also provide peer coaching to UAB colleagues. This program is great for leaders desiring to build influence, increase effectiveness and excel. Circles meet every two weeks 10:30-11:30 a.m. beginning Feb. 23.
Resilient Leader, now in its second year, is a monthly connection point for leaders at all levels. Participants learn about UAB through guest presenters, discuss timely leadership topics, store up fuel for the day ahead and build resilience. Resilient Leader sessions are held the first Tuesdays of each month beginning Feb. 2.
Intentional Communication is a new four-part series and community of practice dedicated to helping participants become more-effective communicators in our current reality where face-to-face conversations are largely replaced by Zoom, email and phone calls. The program is great for leaders at all levels who want to continue to improve. Sessions are 9-10 a.m. Feb. 3, March 3, April 7 and May 5; community of practice begins 9-10 a.m. Feb. 24.
