Got gout?

If you have been diagnosed with gout, you may qualify to participate in one of our Gout research studies. Treatment and compensation for your time is provided per study visit. Please call Stephanie at 205-934-1444 or sbiggers@uabmc.edu.
We are looking for African-American young adults ages 18-25 who live in Birmingham to participate in an entertainment education study. Participation in the project requires completing 3 in-person interviews (1.5-2 hours each), watching short videos featuring local rappers and hip hop artists, and referring your friends to the study. Interviews include a survey about various health behaviors and attitudes. You will also be asked to provide an overview of your recent sexual activity. Participants are enrolled in the study for 6 months and can earn over $200. Please call the CITY Health study at 975-5458 to learn more and to see if you are eligible.
We are conducting a study to examine the naturally occurring bacteria in the gut of women and how behaviors like diet and stress may affect the presence of bacteria in the gut. Participation includes completing questionnaires, basic body measurements, and providing samples of blood, stool, and saliva. Compensation is provided. If you are age 18 or older and healthy (not suffering from any serious clinical condition) you may be eligible to participate in a study to determine bioenergetic health.
