HRM Training and Development is hosting a workshop Tuesday, May 20 to train volunteers for the UAB Safe Zone program. The workshop is from 2 to 5 p.m. in Room 419A in Medical Towers.

Participants who agree to be volunteers are identified by a decal with Safe Zone symbol placed on their office doors. There is no time commitment other than the training.

UAB is committed to the value of diversity. The Safe Zone program is an established visible network of trained faculty, staff and students who provide confidential support and reliable information to other faculty, staff and students regarding issues related to sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression.

Glenda Elliott, Ph.D., associate professor emeriti from the School of Education, is the training instructor.
