UAB employees who meet a certain salary threshold, or whose job includes management of state funds in certain capacities, are required to file their annual Statement of Economic Interests form with the Alabama Ethics Commission by April 30.

Transplant nephrologists Mark Benfield, M.D., and David Askenazi, M.D., and others in pediatric transplantation at UAB are running again in the Mercedes Marathon Feb. 14 to raise money for Camp Bridges, a non-profit group that raises awareness and funds for children who have or need solid-organ transplants.
UAB Hospital and Team Alabama will lead a fundraising walk Saturday, March 6 to raise money to send a large contingent of UAB’s organ-transplant recipients to the 2010 U.S. Transplant Games this summer.
It’s sunny days and big smiles for Eldrid Primm — who felt it was important to personally thank each physician, nurse, physical therapist and rehabilitation staff member he had come in contact with during his stay at UAB Hospital. Primm went into cardiac arrest and underwent therapeutic hyothermia, a technique that cools the body temperature to 32 degree Celsius in an effort to prevent brain damage caused by loss of oxygen.
It’s old-school communication for Public Health faculty, staff and students. Dean Max Michael installed two blackboards in the Ryals Building to encourage communication on issues ranging from building management to public health.
