RAPID Highlights

  • Policy 005 - Revised to enable contract signature process in parallel with IRB review/approval. Eliminates OSP holding contracts for execution.
  • Electronic Research Administration (eRA) system - Office of Research is working with UAB IT to develop a request for quotes to implement a new or vastly improved eRAsystem. Release of RFQ is anticipated mid 2021.
  • IRB ePortfolio - A suite of electronic forms designed to simplify submission, review and revision processes for research protocols. Released August 2020.
  • Developed comprehensive metrics for OSP and IRB as it relates to informing workflows and workloads.
  • Dedicated personnel - OSP officer engaged for OCCC; exploring opportunities to expand this model to other units.
