Healthcare SimulationThe Master of Science in Healthcare Simulation is designed to prepare you with leadership and quality improvement skills through the use of healthcare simulation in order to improve patient safety, increase communication effectiveness, teamwork and care delivery.

By developing your expertise in healthcare simulation you will become a patient safety and quality leaders and will be able to improve and impact patient outcomes in your organization through the innovation of simulation. This online degree is taught by faculty members that will provide a strong foundation in simulation as an educational methodology, in order to prepare you to excel as a leader. Offered Online

This online program offers flexible options with one on-campus visit. The degree is an online program giving you the flexibility to complete the degree while working full time. It is accomplished through four semesters of course work, with a three-day residential visit in the first semester.

Admissions Requirements

Admission requirements include eligibility for admission to the UAB Graduate School. Experience in the healthcare industry or a related field is preferred. Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree (or higher) from an accredited college or university or from a recognized university abroad, with a minimum GPA of 3.0 in coursework.

Additional requirements include:

    • Personal statement regarding interest in the program
    • Three letters of recommendation

Prior completion of a basic statistics course and healthcare terminology (if undergraduate degree is not in a health-related field)

Admission is for the fall semester only. Apply through the UAB Graduate School application or visit the UAB Graduate School website for more information about the application process. There is a $50.00 non-refundable application fee. The application deadline is July 1.
