The UAB Center for Healthcare Management & Leadership combines a futuristic vision that is mandatory in today's healthcare landscape with the distinguished history of an institution that has adapted to meet demand for nearly 50 years. Established in 1966, this leadership center has served healthcare managers across the southeast, the nation and the world.
Known around UAB as the Quality Academy, this is a unique, multidisciplinary approach to the analysis and solution of complex problems. The program prepares clinical and administrative professionals to deploy quality- and safety-focused strategies for their organization.
What began as a highly specialized curriculum in healthcare management for members of UAB Medicine, is now a much in demand certificate program that naturally leads to a Master of Science in Healthcare Quality and Safety.
The next session is set for November 2 - 6 on UAB's campus. You will learn how to integrate principles of business, statistics, waste reduction, and engineering to achieve tangible results in the healthcare arena. Master the use of Lean Six Sigma and you will quantify the critical quality issues in your company. To earn the Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certificate, you will be required to pass the Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE) Lean Six Sigma Green Belt exam.
