Welcome to DHARS

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

Welcome to the Center for Disability Health and Rehabilitation Science!

We are very excited to announce our new Pilot UWIRC recently named the UAB Center for Disability Health and Rehabilitation Science, established by the Board of Trustees on November 6, 2015.

The Center’s Vision is to create a world where people with disabilities will be afforded the same opportunities for a high quality of life and purposeful living as all other individuals.

The Center’s Mission is to address the health, wellness and rehabilitation needs of millions of Americans with disabilities who have substantially higher rates of health disparities, secondary health conditions and health care utilization compared to the general population.

We invite you to review our newly launched website for upcoming events, center membership  and other details.

We are looking forward to an exciting first year and a campus wide working relationship with all schools and Centers. Throughout the academic year, we will welcome various speakers as we enhance education and research training as part of our Mission.

Sign up to receive our announcements. Please feel free to contact us for any information and get to know us. We look forward to working with all of you.
