Students can earn the residential Master of Science in Health Administration (MSHA) degree program and the Master of Business Administration, Master of Science in Health Informatics, or the Master of Public Health at the same time through a dual degree program. Additionally, students in the residential MSHA program have the option of taking additional coursework to complete a Graduate Certificate in Healthcare Financial Management.

Residential MSHA/MBA

The MSHA/MBA dual degree program is offered through UAB’s School of Health Professions and the Collat School of Business. Students in this program takes a blend of courses from the MSHA and MBA program, providing a strong general business foundation along with the more healthcare specific coursework.

Residential MSHA/MSHI

This program allows students to get a deeper study of health informatics, an increasingly essential part of healthcare administration, and a more general healthcare leadership degree. Both degree programs are offered from the Department of Health Services Administration in the School of Health Professions.

Residential MSHA/MPH

The MSHA/MPH dual degree program is offered through UAB’s School of Health Professions and the School of Public Health. The program is ideal, in particular, for professionals in research or government health-related careers. The program offers a strong healthcare leadership degree, in addition to an in-depth study of public health challenges and topics.

Residential MSHA/Graduate Certificate in Healthcare Financial Management

Students enrolled in the residential MSHA program may opt to take additional coursework during their second and third years in the program to earn an optional Graduate Certificate in Healthcare Financial Management. The certificate program includes courses from both the Department of Health Services Administration in the School of Health Professions and the Collat School of Business.
