Kidada Hawkins, FACHE, alumnus of the UAB School of Health Professions’ Master of Science in Health Administration program is on Becker’s Hospital Review list of African American leaders in healthcare 2019. Hawkins, a member of MSHA Class 41 and a Fellow with the American College of Healthcare Executives, was named Chief Operating Officer of the 505-bed Princeton Baptist Medical Center in Birmingham in 2018.

In his current role, Hawkins (pictured right, on left) is in charge of day-to-day operations of the hospital and works to make certain the hospital achieves positive margins while the staff delivers high quality and cost-effective care and services.

Hawkins previously served for three years as CEO of Shoals Hospital in Muscle Shoals. The Becker’s Hospital Review mention of Hawkins says he helped Shoals Hospital increase their EBITDA (earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization) by 47 percent.

Prior to that, Hawkins spent five years as the Administrator of Rural Health Operations for the St. Vincent’s Health System and served as Associate Administrator and Director of Marketing at Stringfellow Memorial Hospital in Anniston.
