Jamie Dabal, FACHE, alumna of the School of Health Professions’ Master of Science in Health Administration program (MSHA Class 39), has been named to the Birmingham Business Journal’s 2018 Women to Watch list.

Dabal, a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, is divisional director of supply chain and operational support for Children’s of Alabama where she leads the supply chain efforts for the entire organization. She has developed and implemented Organizations Readiness plan for all of Children’s of Alabama and is implementing a training plan for more than 1,000 employees in leadership and front line staff.

In addition, Dabal is a tireless supporter of the Department of Health Services Administration (HSA). She is an integral member of the Women’s Leadership Initiative providing program planning and mentorship to female healthcare leaders; she is a past president of the Alumni Association of the Graduate Programs in Health Administration (GPHA) with five years’ of service; and she spoke at, and was involved in the planning of, the HSA 50th Anniversary Celebration.

Dabal, who is a member of the UAB School of Nursing Junior Board of Visitors, is also heavily involved in the support of UAB students and young alumni through mentoring opportunities, conducting mock job interviews to prepare for MSHA’s annual Preceptor’s Conference, attending departmental events, and crafting letters of recommendation.

The BBJ’s Women to Watch list is based on career accomplishments, potential for future leadership, and contributions to their organization among other factors.

Dabal, along with the other winners, will be honored at the annual Women’s Summit at The Club on September 21, 2018.
