The MS/DI Clinical Track provides relevant theoretical frameworks that are critical to your ability to provide excellent service upon graduation. Clinical education reinforces these concepts. We are proud to offer you numerous hands-on opportunities - what we like to call human-based and real-world focused - to apply your knowledge in clinical, community and industrial settings.
Internship Sites are available at Birmingham, Huntsville, Montgomery, and Mobile. These sites offer:
- Clinical nutrition rotations include trauma, burns, surgery, oncology, pediatrics, nephrology, cardiology, gastroenterology, diabetes and nutrition support.
- Food service management experiences include food production, cafeteria management, food procurement, catering, patient services, department administration and quality assurance.
- Supervised practice experiences involve community practice and include outpatient services, public health, community wellness and school nutrition program.
You will participate in medical rounds, conferences, seminars and educational programs. And you will complete a 4-5 week specialization rotation of your choice during the internship experience.
