Please join us in congratulating Antonio Foles (Health Behavior MPH student) who has been chosen to receive the 2019 UAB Samuel B. Barker Award for Excellence in Graduate Studies at the Master’s Level. The award, named for UAB’s first graduate dean, Dr. Samuel Booth Barker, is given each spring to one PhD student and one master’s student, both of whom expect to receive their degrees within the calendar year.

Antonio was selected for this highly prestigious award based on his exceptionally hard work and dedication to health behavior and public health as well as his wide and varied contributions to our school, UAB, the community, and our field.

The Barker Award will be presented officially at the UAB Honors Convocation this spring. Once again, congratulations to Antonio!
