Gargya Malla, a doctoral student in the department of epidemiology was awarded the UAB Academic Excellence award for an international doctoral student. Gargya received the award from president Ray Watts and senior vice president of Academic Affairs and provost, Pam Benoit at a ceremony in the Alys Stephens Center on April 16, 2019.
