Lily Wachtel, undergraduate public health student and Gulf Scholar, recently completed her impact project with Live HealthSmart Alabama opens a new website, helping connect students with the Mobile Market opens a new website and reframe the conversation around food access. Her outreach made resources feel more approachable and visible, key factors in addressing food insecurity.
“Food insecurity isn’t just about hunger. It’s tied to chronic disease, mental health, and so much more,” Wachtel said. “Addressing it is fundamental to public health.”
