One thing we love about the school year is when students stop by our office. Sometimes it's a new-to-us student who wants to get involved with global health but isn't sure where to start. Sometimes a student we've known in one context comes by to ask about a different program of ours they want to apply for. And sometimes a student we know well just comes by to say hi and chat.

In order to fill the gap of face-to-face meetings, we are offering Virtual Office Hours every Monday from 10am to noon and every Thursday from noon to 2pm.

You can pop in at any point in those time ranges and know that a Sparkman Center Team Member will be there to answer your question.

Virtual Office Hour FAQs

Do I need to RSVP in order to attend?

Nope, you can join the Zoom meeting at any point. No need to let us know you're coming, just like you would stop by an office.

Do you have to join with video?

Using video is not required, but welcome!

What if I'm just interested in a program, but don't have a specific question?

We encourage you to read up on programs you're interested in on our website. We also know reading about a program isn't the same as talking to someone. If you just one to chat with one of us to better understand global health case competitions or internships or whatever else, please join the virtual office hours to do so!

Are Sparkman Center programs only for School of Public Health students?

No, students from any discipline and school can take part in Sparkman Center programs. The only exception to this is the SOPH Foreign Travel Award, which is only for SOPH students. However, all other programs are open to all students. Global health is interdisciplinary work
