Join us on November 1st at 4:00 p.m. for a movie screening of First Lady of the Revolution. First Lady of the Revolution follows the story of a southern belle from Alabama, Henrietta Boggs, as she visits her uncle and aunt in Costa Rica. A ride on the back of a motorcycle of a local farmer sparked a life-changing, political journey for Ms. Boggs. First Lady of the Revolution premiered at the 2016 Sidewalk Film Festival and it was the winner of the Audience Award: Best Alabama Film.

Description:

The Sparkman Center for Global Health will host a movie screening for King of Hearts in honor of World Mental Health Day (October 10th). King of Hearts is a 1966 French comedy-drama that is set in a small town in France that has been abandoned near the end of World War I. Charles Plumpick, a Scottish soldier, has been tasked with disarming a bomb that was planted by German soldiers in the town. Unbeknownst to Plumpick, the town is not abandoned. It has been taken over by asylum patients and they would like to crown Plumpick King of Hearts. Join us for this event in honor of World Mental Health Day! Food will be provided. No RSVP required.
