COVID-19 Updates

Effective immediately, in addition to the Social Event Guidelines for Student Events, the following interim policy applies to all students and recognized student organizations at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and will be enforced through the UAB Student Conduct Code.



Off-campus Gatherings Prohibited

Off-campus social gatherings of any size that involve individuals from different households and where appropriate distancing is not maintained are prohibited by state health ordinance and this policy. This includes off-campus residences.

 

Escalated Sanctions

Escalated sanctions will be imposed through the Conduct Procedures for any student who hosts or attends a social gathering in violation of this interim policy and for any student found to have violated a state or local health ordinance.

A student who is found to have hosted a social gathering will receive heightened sanctions, even for a first offense. Serious and repeated violations will result in suspension.
