The signature UAB International Festival is scheduled to take place on Saturday, March 30, 2019, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Hill Student Center. In an immersive celebration of food, music, art, film and cultural traditions from across the globe, the event aims to provide both UAB Blazers and the greater Birmingham community a chance to “travel around the world” in a day.

The festival will feature three international headliners whose names will be announced in February.

In addition to the outdoor concert, attendees can also enjoy live cultural performances, international and local food and merchandise vendors, an international fashion showcase, a short-film series, interactive cultural activities, family-friendly entertainment and more.

“Birmingham is such a diverse place; it offers a ton of great, culture-specific events throughout the year,” said Jennifer Griffin, Director of Student Involvement & Leadership and Co-Chair of the IF planning committee. “UAB’s International Festival aims to pull all of those elements together into one unique, holistic experience that celebrates both UAB Blazer and Magic City diversity as a whole. This is our gift to Birmingham.”

Coordinators hope the larger Birmingham community, as well as UAB students, faculty and staff will come out to participate.

Mark your calendars and stay tuned for ticket details and the full entertainment/program lineup.
