March 17, 2021 -- In response to expected severe weather, the University of Alabama will close certain facilities after 12 p.m. CST, March 17, 2021. The following facilities and services will be affected by the early closure:
- Student Housing and Residence Life: Students living on campus should follow safety instructions from Student Housing and Residential Life.
- University Recreation: Will be closed at noon (12 p.m.)
- Hill Student Center: Will be closed at noon (12 p.m.)
- Campus Dining: The dining Commons will remain open with limited hours of operation.
- Student Health Services/Student Counseling Services: will continue providing remote emergency services.
USGA Elections
Because of the weather event on Wednesday, March 17, 2021, with University closure, and potential power outages, USGA is extending voting in the USGA Election an additional 24 hours until Friday, March 19, 2021, at 8 AM. Run-offs will occur Monday, March 22, 2021, starting at 8 AM and ending on Tuesday, March 23, 2021, at 8 AM. The final results will be announced on Wednesday, March 24, 2021.
