Come support those in the Birmingham community who have been affected by sexual assault. The month of April is widely recognized as Sexual Assault Awareness month and to offer support to those in our community, UAB Wellness Promotion will be hosting their own Take Back the Night event. To advocate for this nationally-recognized initiative, UAB Students, faculty and staff will gather on Wednesday, April 11 at 7 p.m.

The evening will begin in the Underground of the New Freshman Residence Hall with survivor stories, spoken word and the glow stick activity. Participants will receive a free T-shirt, have hor d’oeuvres and information from various program sponsors. These organizations will provide knowledge to the public regarding resources within our community to aid those who have been affected by sexual assault.

Following the main program, participants will march from the New Freshman Residence Hall to the Campus Green. This event is free and open to all who wish to take back the night and is sponsored by UAB Student Outreach, UAB Title IX, UAB 1917 Clinic, USGA & Birmingham Crisis Center.
